Art Room Acceptable Use Policy I, _, clearly understand that I am not to be on Facebook, gaming sites, or other non-educational sites during class. I will practice self-control so that I may develop the discipline necessary to be successful at my job, in college, and life, in general. I also remember signing Central Montcalm’s Acceptable Use Policy, a legal binding document, stating that I will use technology for “educational purposes” while at school. I understand that the use of technology is not a game. I will not play “hide and seek” with windows or try to get on sites while Mrs. Ruggles is not looking or if a substitute teacher is in the classroom. If I am unsure whether a site is acceptable, I will ask first, before proceeding.
If I make poor choices, Mrs. Ruggles will help guide me, by documenting in PowerSchool, each time I choose to violate the Art Room’s Acceptable Use Policy. Points will be deducted from my “Digital Citizenship Grade” and, after 5 offenses, I will be sent to RTC. If time allows, Mrs. Ruggles will discuss the situation with me; otherwise, I can view my choices in PowerSchool. In RTC I will develop a plan as to how to develop self-control regarding technology. If necessary, I may need to lose my technology privileges for a period of time until I am ready to abide by the rules.
I am looking forward to using technology in the art room for learning about art and artists, for documenting my artistic progress and for creating works of art! I will respect the rules set before me so that I may become a successful digital citizen.
